About
History
This clan was originally started through Modern Warfare 3's Call of Duty Elite app back in February of 2012, but since then this clan has grown above and beyond just one game and now caters to Xbox Live gamers of all kinds, regardless of game or genre. This clan was made to foster a social atmosphere where fun, fair play, respect, equality, and teamwork could all take place under one roof. At its peak, this clan has had well over 80+ members.
What's in a name?
The name of the clan was deliberated on by the clan's founding members for well over two hours. Animal names were a popular choice since many sports teams used them, so that is how we ended up with "panda" to start. Then it was suggested that pandas were considered too friendly and cute. From there, it was decided to take that concept of the "cute and friendly panda" and flip it completely upon its head - thus, the APC was born. Despite the name, this clan is anything but angry, so try not to get carried away - you'd be surprised at how a bad attitude can have a negative impact on you, others, and this clan.
Speaking of names, one of the few requirements we do have is when you sign up for the APC on this website. We require that you use your Xbox Live gamertag as your username - this will help avoid confusion when going between this website and Xbox Live (we don't want you calling yourself "Bill" on here, but "Ted" on Xbox Live, for example). This will help people remember who you are. If you change your gamertag on Xbox Live for any reason, you are also expected to change your username on this website to match. Please note, that spaces are not allowed in the website's usernames, so if your gamertag has a space, please use an underscore in its place. Here is an example: My_Gamertag. See, it's easy!
Wait, we're organized?
Yes, but very loosely. One of the core ideas behind the APC is to keep things simple and easy to remember, and not overly complicated to a fault. To that end, there are few expectations outside of playing regularly, following the Xbox Live Code of Conduct and Terms of Use, and generally having a good and all-around social attitude. This is not the kind of clan that has regular meetings, practice sessions, or clan battles. Although those are a possibility, they are purely up to the members of the APC and how far they are willing to organize such events - none of it is officially sanctioned or required. If you would like to do so, however, the APC Discussion forum on the Community page would be the best place to start. In addition, this is not the kind of clan that has a hierarchy. In order to promote equality, everyone in this clan is simply a member (although a select few may have additional responsibilities as moderators on the Community page) - the only thing that will separate you from every other member is your skill as a gamer and your attitude, nothing else. Our clan does not require that you change your gamertag, motto, bio, or various in-game settings - although it is appreciated to see representation whenever and wherever possible that promotes the clan. Positive exposure leads to a larger and more fruitful community, after all (keep in mind though, that negative exposure will also have the opposite affect).
A lifetime of membership
Once you have decided to join the clan, you can only be removed for 2 reasons: (1) by personal choice, and by (2) breaking the Xbox Live Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. Some slight transgressions may be forgiven, but continuous grievances will result in being removed from this website and reported through the Xbox Live service. Examples include racial or sexual harassment and cheating of any kind (including, but not limited to: boosting, glitching, hacking, modding, or lag-switching). To promote a positive and social experience within the clan, acting in a mature manner and showing a sense of mutual respect towards others (such as good sportsmanship) is expected. If you would like to personally be removed from the clan for any reason whatsoever, please do not hesitate to ask by contacting the APC via the Contact page of this website. We also do not discriminate against other clans - if you want to be a member of this clan as well as another clan, the APC has no issue against you doing so.
Your right to privacy
This clan respects your right to privacy. We will never ask you for any personal information (however, you are required to provide a working email address to sign up). You are more than welcome to provide any personal information that you are comfortable with sharing, but please understand that you do so at your own risk (e.g., name, age, sex, location, etc.).
There are always a few bad apples
Nobody appreciates a bad apple, especially in a clan that promotes a positive social experience. If you know that someone within this clan is not living up to the ideals of the clan by breaking the Xbox Live Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, you can use the Contact page to file your grievances against the offending member of the clan, preferably with proof. Once informed of the situation, the clan will take every effort to make an appropriate and timely decision on the matter. Please do not attempt to discredit said offender on this website's forums.
There's an artist in all of us
The image of the angry panda on the Home page is only temporary. If you would like to contribute your artistic skills to the APC, feel free to create and share your version of an angry panda in the APC Discussion forums and it just might become our next Home page image!
